The American Academy of Neurology and the American Headache Society have said that magnesium is likely to help prevent migraines. Safety note and drug interactions: Magnesium is generally very well-tolerated. Has an excellent safety profile. The common side effect when taking higher doses is loose stools or diarrhea.
